§ Blog landing page cost

Landing page cost - and when one page is enough instead of a website

A landing page is one page with one job - which is exactly why it is sometimes enough instead of a full website, and sometimes nowhere near enough

A landing page is one page with one job - which is exactly why it is sometimes enough instead of a full website, and sometimes nowhere near enough. The question about landing page pricing usually arrives bundled with a second one: “or would just a landing page be enough for me instead of a website?”. And that is a very good question, because the right answer can save you a lot of money - or stop you spending it on something that has no chance of working in your situation.

So in this piece I unpack both at once: what the price of a landing page actually consists of, what the market ranges look like, and how to tell whether one page is a sensible choice in your case or a false economy.

What a landing page is and how it differs from a website

A landing page is a single page designed around one specific goal: leave your number, sign up, request a quote. Everything on it leads to that one action - the headline, the copy, the buttons. And what is not on it matters just as much: no sprawling menu, no blog, no ten tabs. Zero distractions, because every extra exit is a chance for a visitor to leave without giving you their contact details.

A company website works the opposite way: it has many pages and many jobs at once. It builds credibility, describes services, shows past work, collects traffic from Google on many different phrases. A landing page does none of that and does not even try - it is like a salesperson who talks about one thing and finishes with one question. It is not a “small website”, it is a different tool for a different job.

When a landing page is enough instead of a full site

There are situations where a landing page is not a compromise but the best option:

  • An ad campaign - you are running ads on Google or Facebook and you need a place where that traffic turns into enquiries. A landing page is built for exactly this.
  • Validating an idea - before you invest in a full site or a product, you want to check whether anyone is interested at all. One page with a form answers that faster and cheaper than anything else.
  • One specific service - if you sell one clearly defined thing, a single well-built page can carry the whole message.
  • An event or an intake - a training course, a webinar, a recruitment round: something with a date and one action to take.

When a landing page is not enough

There is also the other side, which sellers of express landing pages mention less often:

  • The business needs credibility - before a larger purchase a customer checks who stands behind the offer: past work, reviews, the team, contact details. One page leaves too little room for that and can read like a stall set up for an hour.
  • You have many services - a landing page works because it has one goal. Cramming five services onto it blurs the message and kills the very thing that makes a landing page good.
  • You care about traffic from Google - a landing page picks up organic traffic poorly, because it is a single page, and search engines favour sites that answer many questions on a topic. A landing page lives mostly off ads and off the links you send out yourself.

If you recognise yourself in that second set, you need a normal company website - you can read more about how I approach that on the websites page.

What makes up the price of a landing page

A good landing page is not “one page, so one tenth the price of a website”. A few components make all the difference here:

ComponentWhat it coversWhy it matters
A design built around one goalA layout that leads to a single actionA pretty landing page with no goal is a poster, not a tool
Action-driven copyHeadline, body, call to actionText is what persuades people to leave their details, not the graphics
Form and notificationsThe form plus an alert about every new enquiryAn enquiry you never hear about is a lost enquiry
AnalyticsMeasuring visits and form submissionsWithout it you have no idea whether the ads earn or burn budget
Loading speedTechnical optimisationYou pay for every visit from an ad - a slow page burns that money

That last point is worth underlining: a landing page receives traffic you have paid for. Every person who does not wait for the page to load is money spent with no chance of contact.

Landing page pricing on the market and how I quote it

Rough market reality (an observation, not a price list): a landing page built by a freelancer usually runs around 1,500-4,000 PLN (Polish market rates) - the same range that a simple brochure site falls into, which I break down in more detail in how much a website costs. The lower end is usually an off-the-shelf template with the content swapped out; the upper end is a design built around a specific goal, with copy, analytics and speed properly handled.

I work fixed-bid: first I learn the goal of the landing page and where the traffic is meant to come from, then you get a concrete written quote - one figure and a clear scope, before we start, with no hourly billing. And if you already have a landing page and are not sure whether it is well built, we start with a free diagnosis.

Remember too that the build price is not the end of the bill - hosting and the domain are recurring costs, which I cover separately in how much website maintenance costs.

A landing page from a site builder or an AI generator - when that is enough

Site builders and AI generators will produce a landing page for around 0-150 PLN per month, and in two situations that is a fair option: when you are testing an idea on a minimal budget, or when you need a page for an event that happens once.

The hidden cost is the same as with builder-made websites: the time you spend fighting the tool, the lack of ownership (the page lives on someone else’s platform and disappears with the subscription), plus analytics and speed that you usually cannot set up to a serious standard in a builder. For a one-off test that does not hurt. In a campaign where you pay per click, those gaps turn into real money.

A landing page for Google Ads and Meta Ads

If the landing page has to work alongside ads, two more things decide whether the whole campaign makes sense.

The first is message consistency: the promise from the ad has to be the first thing a visitor sees on the page. If the ad talks about a free quote and the landing page greets them with a general story about the company, people leave before they finish reading - and you pay for every one of those visits.

The second is speed, which I mentioned above - in a paid campaign that is not a technical detail, it is a line in the ad budget.

What helps: before you order a landing page, write down one sentence: who will land on it, from which ad, and what exactly they should do. If you cannot finish that sentence, you are not ready for a landing page yet - and it is better to find that out before you spend the money than after.

Frequently asked questions

How much does a landing page cost? Roughly, from a freelancer, around 1,500-4,000 PLN - depending on whether it is a template with the content swapped out or a design built around a specific goal with copy and analytics. With me you always get a concrete written quote before we start.

How long does it take to build a landing page? This is work measured in days or single weeks, not months. I give the exact date in writing along with the quote.

Is a landing page enough instead of a website? Yes - for an ad campaign, validating an idea, a single service or an event. No - when the business needs credibility, has many services, or wants to collect traffic from Google on many phrases.

Is a landing page from a site builder any good? For testing an idea or a one-off event, yes. For an ongoing campaign where you pay per click, usually not, because it lacks proper analytics and speed, and the page is not your property.

Does a landing page rank in Google? Poorly - a single page gives little room for phrases, so organic traffic is not its job. A landing page lives off ads and off the links you send out yourself.

Need something like this on your side? I design and build websites for B2B companies - from scratch or as a rebuild of what already stands. Send me the scope and a quote with a date comes back.
